Stay up to date

Australians love a road trip, and while it can be tempting to just jump in the car and hit the road jack, it’s important you take a break on your longer journeys.

Whether you are heading up the coast to the more northern tourist spots like Queenland’s Gold Coast or taking a trip down south, for most of us, Coffs Harbour is on the route to our next destination.

The perfect pit-stop, Coffs Harbour is just 5 hours from Sydney and 4.5 from Brisbane, so it makes sense to take a stop if you’re on a long journey (and you should never drive more than 8 hours a day) at Coffs and explore nature's best on your NSW family holiday.

If you have 24 hours on the Coffs Coast, here’s our top things to do to stop, revive and survive –

Explore the Big Banana fun park

You really haven’t had the NSW road trip experience if you have not stopped at the Big Banana when you are passing through on a road trip.

Toboggan rides, ice skating, mini golf, laser tag, café and a candy kitchen – the options are endless and there is something to keep everyone entertained and happy at the Big Banana. Whether you make it a quick stop or want to make the day out of it, it is a great place for the whole family. Don’t forget to snap a picture with the iconic banana itself.

Get Sky high and enjoy the views

Offering one of the best views on the NSW East Coast, the Sky Pier captures the best views of the region. Take in the views and enjoy a coffee from the nearby café. There are also some nearby walking tracks to enjoy the surrounding rainforests.

Stand up paddle board around town

The Coffs Coast offers some of the best stand up paddle boarding spots thanks to the natural inlets. Boambee Creek is the perfect beginner’s location or head to Reflections Moonee Beach where you can hire a SUP board and paddle in the shallow waters, making it perfect for beginners.

Rest easy in one of Reflections’ nine holiday parks on the Coffs Coast for the ultimate rest stop on your NSW road trip. Get amongst the scenery at the stunning Urunga or Mylestom, or visit the nearby Nambucca Valley for a stay at Nambucca Heads or Scotts Head.

Enjoy the surf at Red Rock or Corindi Parks and drift with the tranquil tide a Moonee Beach for lush surrounds and facilities to keep everyone entertained.

For central sight seeing and convenience the Coffs Harbour park is the perfect place to take a break, or if you really want to get back to nature then pitch a tent at Hungry Head.
