Stay up to date

Holidays are all about relaxing, but can also be a time to rediscover your health and vitality. Whether it be a swim in NSW's beautiful beaches, a stroll along the magnificent bushwalking trails or that perfect putt on the golfing greens, there are so many activities to enjoy while taking in our incredible state.

If you want to get an extra spring in your step, make the most of the active adventures you’ll find in a Reflections Holiday Park.

1. Hikes and Walks

This one’s easy. Simply lace up your shoes and head outside. You can seek out dedicated long-haul hiking trails, like the Hume and Hovell Track which runs through our Burrinjuck Waters Holiday Park.

Or you can hunt down the local ‘must-do’ tracks. This includes the iconic Cape Byron Walking Track which starts next to Clarkes Beach Holiday Park. Walk through pretty rainforest and grasslands and take in the stunning ocean views as you hike to the historic Cape Byron Lighthouse.

And for something a little less strenuous, stroll along the beaches, dams, rivers and waterways found at all our 37 Reflections Holiday Park NSW locations.

2. Swimming

Many of our NSW caravan parks – from Eden Holiday Park in the south to Terrace Reserve Holiday Park in the north – are a stone’s throw from some of the most iconic beaches in the state.

But swimming is not just an option for our coastal parks. Our Lake Burrendong Holiday Park has a lake that’s perfect for a refreshing dip, as well as a pool and waterslide. And the waterpark at our Copeton Waters Holiday Park is a hoot on those super-hot summer days. Who says kids have all the fun?

3. Cycling and Biking

Our Copeton Waters Holiday Park boasts some scenic mountain bike trails, so strap the bike onto the van for this one.

Or for something a little more easy-going, but just as scenic, the bike paths and tracks around Ballina are a cyclist’s dream. If you’re staying at either our Shaws Bay Holiday Park or Ballina Holiday Park you’ll want to get yourself a bike; either BYO or hire one from the bike shops on River Street.

4. Outdoor Sports

Whether it’s volleyball, tennis or a casual round of cricket, our parks are made for an outdoor game with old friends and new.

Play a game of volleyball at our Lake Keepit Holiday Park. Enjoy a hit of tennis at Burrinjuck Waters Holiday Park. And the swathe of green at the bottom of Nambucca Heads Holiday Park is itching for a friendly game of backyard cricket.

5. Surfing

Age is no barrier to learning to surf. In fact, more and more ‘silver surfers’ are discovering the joy of this invigorating sport. It’s fun, challenging and great for your muscles and balance. It’s even been shown to improve conditions like arthritis and diabetes.

Byron Bay is synonymous with surfing, so it’s pretty much a rite of passage to get on a board when you stay at Clarkes Beach Holiday Park. Contact of the many local surf schools to get started.

6. Stand-Up Paddle Boarding

What’s SUP my friends? Stand-up paddle boarding (or SUP) is growing in popularity, and it’s easy to see why. It’s beginner friendly. It’s a great way to explore our beautiful surrounds. It also does wonders for your balance and upper-arm strength.

A paddle on the beautiful Brunswick River is practically a must-do when you stay at Massy Greene Holiday Park. Or get on a board and impress the younger folk as you explore the tranquil waters of Boambee Creek Reserve.

7. Golf

Golf keeps you both mentally and physically fit, but that’s not the only reason why it has such a following. It’s a sport that can be played by people of all shapes and sizes. It’s a wonderful social activity and it’s also a great way to get out in nature.

Our Hawks Nest Holiday Park backs onto a championship rated 18-hole golf course. Bonville Golf Resort (known as the most beautiful golf course in Australia) is a popular destination for those staying at our Mylestom Holiday Park or Urunga Holiday Park.

Keep fit with these ideas for active seniors when you next stay at a Reflections Holiday Park. You’ll improve your health, meet new friends, and you’ll feel pretty chuffed for learning something new.
